Detec Next 2.5: more stable video and clearer alarms
Detec Next 2.5 helps you get more from the video surveillance system you already have. The upgrade from 2.4 improves camera analytics, alarm handling and everyday operation.
More useful camera information
Supported ONVIF cameras can provide analytics events such as motion, line crossing, intrusion and tampering. Select the event categories that should raise an alarm and use stored metadata to find relevant recordings. Improved handling reduces duplicate alarms and restores event connections more reliably after interruptions.
More stable video and better GPU use
Next 2.5 improves recovery of interrupted streams and limits the effect of one problematic connection on other views. On supported systems, the graphics processor handles more H.264/H.265 decoding and display work, reducing unnecessary CPU use.
Clearer alarms, including in Detec Pulse
Each alarm definition can have its own priority. Repeated camera events can be grouped or filtered. With a configured Relay connection, Next can provide alarm data, priority and optional snapshots to Detec Pulse. Pulse is set up separately for the installation.
More options for secure connections
Version 2.5 supports HTTPS for compatible Next and Enterprise connections, and encrypted camera video options including RTSPS and SRTP. Availability depends on the camera model, firmware and configuration. Camera and system connections need separate configuration.
More control of recordings and exports
- The “No video recording” alarm can warn of missing stored recordings on supported channels, with a per-camera time limit.
- Improved disk handling and recovery after temporary storage problems.
- More predictable playback and export.
- Optional password protection for exports in Detec’s own archive format.
Password protection applies to Detec archives, not ordinary MP4 files or the recording disk. Protected archives require an updated Player. Forgotten passwords cannot be recovered.
Plan your upgrade
Confirm licensing, back up the configuration and plan necessary restarts in a maintenance window. Update clients, administration tools and Player, then check recording monitoring, alarm sharing and GPU settings with your installer.
