As demands for connection from networking devices such as IP phones, IP cameras and access points increase, deployment complexity and cost rise as well. For less cable usage and investment, Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology that provides both data connection and electrical power to devices through just one cable is employed.

The PoE12-HP is a single-port PoE injector that delivers both power and data to other PoE devices via a single CAT-5 Ethernet cable. The PoE12-HP allows data transmission at 1000 Mbps and delivers power of up to 30 Watts; it’s especially suitable for advanced powered devices (PD) like MIMO access points or pan-tilt-zoom cameras that consume relatively more power.

Industry standard compliance and investment protection

PoE is a standard-based technology that specifies how power is distributed along with data on standard Ethernet LAN cables. The standard specifies IEEE 802.3af providing up to 15.4 W of power per device and IEEE 802.3at providing up to 30 W per device. Complying with the IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at standards, the Zyxel PoE12-HP offers interoperability and compatibility with other standard-based PoE devices.

Trouble-free installation

With PoE technology, the PoE12-HP enables users to place devices such as wireless LAN APs, IP surveillance cameras and IP phones exactly where they are needed. Since the devices are directly powered through Ethernet cables, there is no need to have separate power supplies or to have costly electrical engineers putting AC power sockets on ceilings or roof spaces.

Plug and Play—ease of use

The PoE12-HP is easy to use and needs no configuration. Since only simple inbound and outbound cable plugs are required, the installation is very straightforward and can be performed by users having no electrical wiring experience without spending extra cost.
